Welcome! I'm Peter.

This site is primarily a family history site, recording my own family history.

It also makes available details of vital life events of individuals with the surname Leavold (and derivatives) that I have collected over the last 30 years.  The details come from all over the world and go back over the centuries.  The names of those individuals born after 1915 who are not known to have died, are recorded on this website as "Name withheld".

In research such as this, it is difficult to prevent some inaccuracies from occurring.  If any are spotted, please let me know at the following email address link Peter and I shall try to rectify them.  Similarly, if anyone can supply additional relevant information, I would be pleased to receive and add it to the site.

This website remains work in progress.  I still have folders full of hard copy details that I have yet to add to the site.  I shall do so as time permits.

I should like to thank for their help:

Linda and Richard Leavold who live in Norfolk and have helped me in various ways in recent years.
Gerald Leavold who, sadly, died recently but who graciously helped with all the Starston and Bacton Leavolds in the 17th and 18th centuries, and more besides
Mandy Pratley (Victoria, Australia) and David Leavold (Melbourne, Australia) who between them, but I think unknown to each other, did the research on the Australian Leavolds.  I have been in contact with Mandy to thank her, but have no contact details for David to thank him for his original research.  I gladly acknowledge it here.
Pauline Turle who introduced me to the Family Historian, GEDCom Census, and Res privata software, and explained with infinite patience some of their subtleties to me
David Simpson for his help in setting up this website
